I came upon this post yesterday as I was reviewing all the news coming out of Haiti yesterday. It lists many different places that you can get information about helping the unfortunate people in Haiti.
It is an animal welfare website, but most of the links are to help people. In the face of such tragedy, we have to keep perspective of priorities.
Keep in mind that animals are much more able to fend for themselves in the wild in times of trouble. Also keep in mind that animals are helping in the rescue effort.
That said, the American Humane Society is mobilizing and getting prepared to become an integral part of the rescue effort. Information about donating to the effort can be found here. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) stands ready as well.
My paws are together in purrayer for those humans and animals who are suffering so much. Godspeed to all of them.
